Many people in America do have an American flag somewhere in the home, on their property, or on their person. The American Bald Eagle also symbolizes freedom and American love and pride. Apple pie might also be a symbol of American freedom and pride. Americans have many symbols that are meaningful to them. However, People who live in the United Kingdom probably have meaningful symbols that represent that part of the world such as the Union Jack which is placed upon flags, plates, and other objects. Therefore, it seems as if people who live in the United Kingdom might display a flag having the Union Jack on it proudly somewhere in their homes or on their person. In addition, in the United Kingdom people are very fond of and loyal to the Queen of England; therefore, many people who live in England and other parts of the United Kingdom might have pictures of the Queen of England, plates with the Queen of England’s picture on them, and shirts with the Queen of England’s picture on them. In addition, there many even lapel pins that have Queen Elizabeth the Second’s image on them that fans of the Queen and of the Royal family can wear on a daily basis if they choose. Let’s examine lapel pins a bit more.

Lapels pins are small pins that are often worn on the lapel of a dress jacket. Lapel pins can be purely ornamental or lapel pins can illustrate the wearer’s affiliation with an organization or a cause. There is a pink ribbon lapel pin that people often wear in order to show that they support fighting and ending breast cancer. October is breast cancer awareness month; however many breast cancer survivors and fighters wear a pink ribbon lapel pin on the lapel of their jackets all year long. In addition, American Flag lapel pins became very popular in the United States, especially among politicians following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. American eagle lapel pins and dove lapel pins have become more poplar since September 11th, 2001. In addition, to American Flag, American Bald Eagle, and dove lapel pins to symbolize peace and American pride, there are peace sign lapel pins and yellow ribbons that can and often are attached to the lapel of people’s jackets to indicate the desire for peace in the world. Another cause lapel pin is a red ribbon lapel pin which symbolizes supporting the fight for a cure of AIDS. AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. There are lapel pins that are strictly ornamental.

Some people like wearing lapel pins that illustrate their passions. Some people wear a variety of animal lapel pins such as poodle and Lab lapel pins. Sports fans might wear San Diego Padres, Boston Red Socks, or New England Patriot lapel pins. Cooking and baking lovers might like to wear either a rolling pin lapel pin or a chef’s hat lapel pin. There are also movie lapel pins. There is a lapel pin for anyone who wants to wear one. Lapel pins are also small fashion statements. Therefore, please wear a lapel pin from time to time.
